The Surface Pro 3 is marketed as the tablet that can replace your laptop, starting at 799$. Is it true?

 

Yes and no. It is true if you are happy to use a 12 inch screen, buy at least a special keyboard and probably also the docking station. It is not because the screen is too small, the touch function is not very useful when working with productivity software, and a laptop is potentially cheaper.

 

The Surface Pro 3 is a good choice if you plan to substitute all the iPads and Laptop of your management in your company. Just buy them and all the management will be happy, and you have saved a lot of money. It is not a good solution if you plan to substitute only laptops, because it is small and expensive.

Obviously, there is always the fact that you are running Windows 8.1, so there is only a fraction of the apps that are available for Android or Apple products.

 

Does it replace your laptop? In some cases, like if you want to replace couples of laptops and iPads, but for all the other uses there are cheaper alternative, still called laptops that are far better, especially for your wallet.
